There are various CBD-based pet care products in the market today. Some of these take the form of chewable, capsules, or oils that can be added to pet food. There are also topical creams available. Administering CBD in such ways have varying effects on pets, much like with humans.
What Are the Side Effects of CBD on Animals?
There are some reported side effects of CBD in dogs, although there is no known scientific proof supporting these claims. However, with proper dosage, the following can be minimized:

- Decreased saliva production
- Slight drowsiness
Is CBD Safe for Pets?
One way to ensure that CBD is safe to use for pets is by always checking the ingredients. CBD products must have no more than 0.3% of THC — the toxic component to animals. Nevertheless, it’s a lot safer for pet professionals to use CBD products with 0.0% THC.
