How to Clean Pet Hair the Right Way from Different Surfaces

We love our pets, we really do – but what we don’t always love is cleaning up after them. Our furry friends just tend to make lots of messes wherever they go! One of the biggest problems pet owners face is dealing with all that pet hair. It’s everywhere and it never seems to go away no matter how much you sweep, vacuum, or mop. Well, we’ve got good news for you – we’ve got the down-low on how to get pet hair out of your life the right way, no matter the surface. Let’s get right to it!

Cleaning Floors

Let’s start right where you’re going to need the most help – your floors. Believe it or not, there are some great, easy methods for getting pet hair off your floors. If you have hardwood floors, tile, linoleum, or any other type of hard surface, you can simply use an electrostatic dust mop to gather up that pet hair! You can use a cloth or a Swiffer as well to gather up all those dust bunnies from your fur babies.

The next thing you know they are covered in pet hair!

Dog and cat hair loves binding and sticking to fleece clothing and blankets as the fibers seem to literally suck up fur much more than other fabrics. In this article, we’re going to provide answers on how to get pet hair out of fleece material!

First, let’s take a look below at the quick and short answer as to the best ways to remove pesky hair from your fleece blankets and clothing.

How do I get dog hair out of fleece? To effectively remove dog and cat hair from fleece there’s a number of things you can do. The use of static electricity can remove the hair. Using rubber gloves or, of course, a lint roller. To make sure your pet doesn’t leave hairs anywhere, make sure you thoroughly groom dogs, ideally away from your home.

Now that we’ve seen the brief answer as to how to remove pet hair from fleece items, let’s now take a closer look at ways you can simply and effectively remove the hair without any stress.

Why does dog cat hair stick so securely to fleece items?

Removing the hair from all kinds of polar fleece- such as blankets for humans or doggy pet blankets- not to mention polar fleece clothing, can be a chore you find yourself doing pretty often if you have any kind of furry pet.

Place the item on a hard surface and roll over until the adhesive strip is covered. Remove the strip to expose a fresh section of adhesive and continue until the hair is removed. As an alternative, use a simple piece of household adhesive tape and blot the blanket to grab and remove fur.
Static Electricity Use static electricity to easily remove hair from fleece. Rub a dryer sheet over the blanket or clothing to grab the hair. Also, consider rubbing an inflated balloon against the blanket to capture and dispose of hair.
Washing Machine Remove as much hair as possible with alternative methods mentioned above, then follow with a wash cycle. Place the blankets and clothing in a dryer with dryer sheets to remove hair via the lint trap. Use multiple drying and fluff cycles to capture hair in the lint trap repeatedly. Clean the trap between each cycle to make space for more hair.

NOTE: use the low heat setting on your dryer for fleece.

Maybe you bought a metal dog crate or the plastic variety and you’re wondering how to make sure your best friend has a warm, comfortable and safe environment to snuggle. First, we will look at the short answer as to how to clean your dog crate, then we’ll go into more detail on the best way to do it and what will help you.

How do I clean my dog crate? To ensure the best results, first remove all your dog’s bedding, toys, water & food bowels and blankets for washing. You will want to start by removing the soft pad on the bottom of the cage and take that right to your washing machine for a good cleaning.

Wash the soft furnishings such as pad, pet bed, and blankets

The Pad is probably the easiest part of the cleaning process as you simply pop it on a washing cycle. Do make sure that any soft pads you buy are washing machine safe. You can, of course, wash any soft furnishings of your pet’s home, such as a favorite doggy fleece, or any other type of pooch bed that’s inside their metal cage.

You may like to wash these parts of your dog’s beds frequently to make sure your pet is clean and comfortable. When washing soft elements of your dog crate, make sure you use a specially formulated pet bed cleaner.

We love our pets and want to make them feel comfortable by letting them roam the house. However, the only problem with doing that is over time the house becomes smelly with pet odor. CLEANING ROUTINE
